Distributed throughout the country except for the higher parts of the mountains (above the mixed forests belt) and some plains and low mountain areas.

Habitats

Breeds in open broad – leaved deciduous forests (mainly Quercus sp.), which are the primary habitat of the species. Often breeds also in orchards, tree and shrub plantations (especially plantations of Populus sp. and Robinia pseudoacacia), in riparian strips of trees of Populus sp. and other tree species, shrubs and patches of them, as well as in public parks and gardens and other forested areas in settlements.
