Distribution pattern
The breeding of the species in the country was established with certainty in the year 2002 with the observation of a chick at the Atanasovsko Lake. In the last 10 years, there is no data for definite breeding habitats, even though during the breeding season it has been registered in the region of Plovdiv and near the Atanasovsko Lake.

Habitats
Breeds in saline terrains with halophytic vegetation near coastal lagoons, in dry pastures (steppes and dry calcareous grasslands), near bogs and marshes (in grassy water fringe vegetation), close to crop fields and other (annual) grass crops (especially cornfields in the early stages of plant development).
