Distribution pattern
Distributed throughout the country except for the middle and high parts of the mountains (Stara Planina, Rila, Pirin, Western Rhodopes, Sredna Gora, Slavyanka, Belasitsa, the Western frontier mountains), in areas without settlements and parts of the Eastern Rhodopes, where the species does not breed in spite of the existence of settlements.

Habitats
Breeds exclusively in urban settlements: towns, villages and industrial zones, especially those in the plains with rich forested vegetation, often in public parks and gardens. As an exception, single pairs may breed incidentally also outside settlements (at roadside trees, groves, etc.).
