Distribution pattern
With dispersed and patchy distribution, with nesting grounds in places along the Danube River and Lomovete, and isolated ones in the Danubian Plain and in the Sofia Field. Isolated sites are found also along the Black Sea coast, Dobrudzha, the Thracian Plain, Eastern Rhodopes, Rupite, etc. Although the observations were of singing males during the breeding season, most likely they are non – breeding single specimens.

Habitats
Breeds mainly in bogs and marshes, in water – fringe vegetation, including in brushwood of Amorpha sp. and Salix sp., with grass and climbing plants on wet soils (Belene Island). In Northwestern Bulgaria found also in forested valleys near dams, similar in nature to alluvial and riverine forests and brush.
