Distribution pattern
With broad distribution, denser in the mountainous and semi-mountainous areas, more dispersed in the plains, where it is not found in large treeless areas (especially in the Danubian plain, the Thracian Plain, the Burgas lowland, etc.). It is not found in some areas with dense coniferous forests in the Western Rhodopes, Rila, Pirin, etc.

Habitats
Breeds mainly in open deciduous forests both in the plains and in the mountains, although it often breeds in strips of trees, shrubs and mosaics of them, especially along rivers, in orchards, tree and shrub plantations, including in riparian Populus sp. plantations, in public parks and gardens. Less common in alluvial and riverine forests and brush, mixed forests and as an exception in coniferous forests.
