Distribution pattern
Throughout the country. Not found at some areas in treeless plains with predominant arable lands – locally in the Danubian and the Thracian Plains, the Burgas Lowlands, etc.

Habitats
Breeds in broad-leaved deciduous forests, coniferous forests, mixed forests, and alluvial and riverine forests and brush, as well as in tree lines, hedges, and patches of them, always near open areas. Rarely in big public parks and large gardens on the outskirts of larger settlements.
