Distribution pattern
With dispersed distribution mainly along the Danube River (the Belene Lowland, the region of the Srebarna Lake, the Kalimok fishponds) and along the Black Sea coast (the Durankulak Lake, the Burgas Wetlands, Baltata, and marshy areas along the Ropotamo River). Observations of single specimens have also been made in the area of the Sofia Field, the former Straldzha Marsh and along the Maritsa River Valley. Most of the observations, although of singing male specimens, are probably of migrating birds

Habitats
Most of the observations are made around bogs and marshes with dense and high grasses, as well as in dense ruderal vegetation with single low bushes by water bodies, including such with water–fringe vegetation, rarely in dense grasses near fens, transition mires and springs or in other annual grass crops.
