Distribution pattern
With predominantly dispersed distribution in the plains of the country along the middle and lower reaches of the rivers and around water bodies with standing waters. More grouped in neighbouring squares in some areas along the Danube River and along some of its tributaries, along the rivers Maritsa, Tundzha, Struma, Iskar, etc., as well as along the Black Sea coast.

Habitats
Builds its nests most often on Salix sp. along the banks of swamps (including fishponds, old riverbeds, quarries, etc.) with rich vegetation, especially of Typha sp. It also nests on trees on the banks of rivers or at the edges of alluvial and riverine forests and bushes.
