Distributed throughout the country with the exception of the high mountain treeless zone.

Habitats
Breeds in a wide variety of habitats, favoured are primary broad – leaved deciduous forests, mixed forests, alluvial and riverine forests and brush, to less extent coniferous forests. A significant part of the population also breeds in strips of trees, shrubs and patches of them, orchards, tree and bush plantations, public parks and large gardens and other parts of settlements, where often builds its nests on buildings and other anthropogenic facilities, and sometimes the pairs occupy cavities in inland cliffs and exposed rocks.
