Distribution pattern
With dispersed distribution throughout the country, mainly in the plains and along the larger river valleys. Some observations have been made in the Sofia Field and Vitosha, the Eastern Rhodopes, the Thracian Plain, the Fore Balkan and the Danubian plain located in neighbouring squares with a relatively short distance from each other.

Habitats
Breeds near running waters – streams, rivers, brooks, overgrown with bushy and tree vegetation on the banks with wet and muddy biotopes, especially within broad-leaved deciduous forests, rarely in alluvial and riverine and swamp forests and brush, and coniferous forests. Some of the breeding grounds are near standing fresh waters and water fringe vegetation.
