Habitats

Synanthropic species, closely related to humans. Breeds mainly in buildings, concrete poles, street lights and other constructions in towns, villages and industrial zones, including public parks, sometimes in hollows in strips of trees, shrubs and mosaics of them, orchards, forest edges and even on cliffs and exposed rock, as a rule close to settlements. Outside the settlements nests in single buildings, cavities in bridges, poles and other constructions. Often occupies nests of other species (Delichon urbicum, Merops apiaster, Ciconia sp., Aquila sp., etc.), both inside and outside populated areas.
