Distribution pattern
With patchy distribution, but not everywhere in the country – without the high mountain treeless zone. More densely mainly, in the lower and middle parts of the country, but in a number of areas (e.g. those with dense forest cover) the breeding sites are rare or the species is not found.

Habitats
Breeds mainly in temperate heath and scrub, mixed with or on the edges of not very dense broad – leaved deciduous forests, coniferous forests or mixed forests (avoids the inner forest areas), overgrown with bushes orchards, tree and shrub plantations, strips of trees, shrubs and mosaics of them. A significant part of the population, especially in the lower parts of the country, breeds in public parks and gardens, and other areas with trees and shrubs in settlements.
