Distribution pattern

With patchy and dispersed distribution, more dense in South-eastern Bulgaria, along the Black Sea coast, the valleys of the rivers Struma and Mesta, the central parts of the Thracian Plain and the Danubian Plain. With dispersed distribution in the lowland areas of most of the remaining territory, to the north almost entirely along the Danube River. The density of the distribution visibly decreases from southeast towards northwest.

Habitats

Breeds mainly in sclerophyllous scrub, rarely in temperate heath and scrub, in overgrown with bushes orchards, tree and shrub plantations, strips of trees, shrubs and mosaics of them, public parks and large gardens, as well as in other areas in the settlements. In the Danubian Plain, the species cannot be found in apparently suitable sites, but breeds almost exclusively in settlements, while in Southern Bulgaria and along the Black Sea coast is commonly found in natural habitats.
